The Scheme of EIUS is being implemented for development of Urban Slums in Urban Local Bodies in the State. Previously the funds under NSDP Scheme are being released for development of slum areas in ULBs. The scheme has been closed during the year 2006. The development in urban slums were deteriorated due to paucity of funds. At present only EIUS scheme is in operation and the funds provided in the scheme are very meagre to fetch the needs of the poor living in urban slums. Thus, there is dire necessity to provide additional funds under this scheme to improve the facilities to the urban slum. Therefore, an amount of Rs.500.00 lakhs has been shown in the budget estimates for the year 2009-10 and the same may be provided. |

The Hon'ble High Court of A.P has issued orders on Dt. 27.09.2006 directing the Government to protect the vacant sites earmarked for Parks and Playgorunds. As a part of protection of parks and playgorunds an amount of Rs.10.00 Crores has been provided in the BE of 2008-09 i.e Rs.772.00 Lakhs + Rs.66.00 Lakhs + Rs.162.00 Lakhs. According to the requirement given by the ULBs in the State an amount of Rs.5805.00 Lakhs is necesary for protect the parks and playgorunds by fencing and constructing the compound walls. Thus during the financil Year 2009-10 the balance amount of Rs.4800.00 Lakhs may be provided under this head in the Budget Estimates i.e Rs.3705.60 Lakhs + Rs.316.80 Lkahs + Rs.777.60 Lakhs. |

Hence the matching share of State to the GOI Budget Allocation of Rs.31,15,78,000 is increased under RBE 2008-09. |
